Chapter 14
"So this is it, this is your special surprise?" Alegria asked as she looked around town. And she thought he was gonna bring her to somewhere secret and romantic.
"Yeah. This is it." Bruno said as parked the car. "We're gonna be wearing this." Bruno said as he took the red masks that he bought somewhere.
"Ohh.. I get it." Alegria took one mask. "So this is what you were planning to do." Alegria smiled as she wore it. "They're pretty."
"What's pretty?"
"These masks. They're just plain red masks, but they're nice. I like it." Alegria answered.
"I just bought that from somewhere." Bruno smiled. "You know, I missed this." Bruno said as he put his mask on.
"Missed what?"
"You know, walking around downtown, just like a normal person. I missed doing that." Bruno said.
"Well, we're gonna do it now. We just have to wear masks though.." Alegria said.
"Yeah." Bruno chuckled. "Come on, we still have a lot to do." Bruno and Alegria went out of the car and roamed around the town wearing masks. Bruno held Alegria's hands as they walked.
The people stared at them, intrigued why they were wearing masks. But they didn't care. They just want to go out and be a normal couple for at least one day, not hiding from the people.
As the walked, they saw an ice cream stand.
"Wanna eat some ice cream?" Bruno asked Alegria.
"Vanilla ice cream please." Alegria grinned.
"Two vanilla ice creams please." Bruno said to the ice cream vendor, and paid for the ice cream.
"You really love vanilla, don't you?" Bruno said as he licked his ice cream.
"Who doesn't? I mean, vanilla is just so heaven." Alegria said.
"Chocolate is still the best." Bruno said, trying to irritate Alegria.
"Nope, vanilla is the best. Ever." Alegria said as she licked her ice cream.
"Chocolate."
"Vanilla."
"Chocolate."
"Vanilla."
"Chocolate."
"Then why are you eating vanilla right now?" Alegria said as she sticked her tongue out to Bruno.
"Because it's your favorite." Bruno looked at Alegria and smiled sweetly.
Alegria smiled back. "You love me that much to choose vanilla over choco?" Alegria said.
Bruno just chuckled. But he really doesn't wanna eat chocolate while Alegria is eating vanilla. He just doesn't wanna feel separated from her even just because of eating the different flavors of ice cream. Bruno smiled. He loves her that much to choose Alegria over everything.
The came across a movie theatre, and decided to watch a movie.
"What do you wanna watch?" Bruno asked Alegria.
"Well.. Anything funny or romantic. Everything's really fine with me." Alegria said.
"Let's go for romantic." Bruno said, smiling. He bought tickets, popcorns and drinks and they went inside the movie theatre. There were only few people on the movie theatre, since it has already been weeks since the movies have been in theatres. The were watching the movie, and the love scene came. Bruno looked at Alegria, looked around, then looked back at Alegria. He removed Alegria's mask and caressed her cheek. He removed his, and kissed her gently. Then he looked at her eyes and smiled.
"I missed doing this." Bruno said.
"Kissing while watching movie with other girls or kissing me?" Alegria said.
"Both. Ha! Kidding." Bruno said, grinning at Alegria. Someone shushed them, and they both smiled at each other.
"I missed kissing you like this." Bruno said as he gave one last peck on Alegria's lips.
They both put their masks back on. After a few moments, the movie was finished. They went outside the movie theatre and looked for some place to eat and what food to munch.
"What if we just had vanilla ice cream for lunch?" Alegria grinned.
"All you really can think of is vanilla or ice cream... Or vanilla ice cream." Bruno said as he smiled. "Alright, vanilla ice cream for lunch then."
"Yipee!" Alegria hopped like a child. Bruno smiled. She's so happy about having a vanilla ice cream, she forgot about her surgery tomorrow. Bruno sighed. If only he could spend a lot more time with her.
Alegria stopped in front of a shop. She saw a really cute Pocoyo plush toy in a shop. She suddenly remembered her students. She resigned for work and she misses her students very much. She didn't tell the principal the exact reason why she resigned, and her class didn't know she was gonna be gone not just for today, or tomorrow, she was gonna be gone forever. Her eyes started to turn red.
"What's wrong?" Bruno asked as he stood beside Alegria, looking at the plush toy too.
"Nothing.. I just.. I just remember my students." She tried to smile. But Bruno could tell that it was fake. So decided to do something that would make Alegria feel better.
"Wait here." Bruno said, as he went inside the shop, talked to the sales lady and bought the Pocoyo plush toy. Bruno handed it to her.
"You really don't have to do this." Alegria said. Bruno was still handing her the plush toy, not saying a thing. Alegria sighed. "Alright, you win again.." Alegria started to cry, luckily she had a mask on, so it wouldn't be so obvious if she cried. But Bruno can still sense the sadness in her eyes.
"You're such a cry-baby." Bruno said as he hugged Alegria. "You shouldn't cry because I gave you a plushie." Bruno said, joking with Alegria.
"I'm not crying!" Alegria said, denying. "Come on, let's just find a fast food chain that has milkshakes." Alegria said as she started walking.
"Hey wait! Bruno said as he walked towards Alegria.

"Where are we, really?" Alegria said, her eyes in a blind fold. She was guided by Bruno as they walked into somewhere she didn't know.
"Just wait till you see it." Bruno answered. Suddenly, they stopped walking and he took Alegria's blind fold. Alegria looked around, and gasped. They were standing on a romantic pavilion full of lights and flowers. Outside the pavilion, she could see Phil, Eric, Phredley, Jamareo and Kenji standing, smiling at her. They were all holding instruments. She could also see Calyx, smiling at her. The moon was shining so bright that night. After a few moments, the boys started playing the instruments and she heard Bruno sing.
"Wise men say... Only fools rush in. But I cant help.. Falling in love with you."
Bruno sang as he looked into Alegria's eyes,
"Shall I stay? Would it be a sin, If I cant help falling in love with you?"
Bruno grabbed Alegria's waist as they danced into the music.
"Like a river flows surely to the sea, Darling so it goes. Some things are meant to be.."
He stopped and took Alegria's hand, then put it in his chest.
"Take my hand, take my whole life too. For I cant help falling in love with you.. For I cant help falling in love with you."
Bruno knelt down and took something on his pocket. "I know it has just been more than three months, but you said it before. 'It doesn't matter how long you've loved someone. What matters is how you love that someone.'" Bruno smiled as he showed Alegria a ring box.
"I wanna love you infinitely, Alegria. Will you marry me?" Bruno said as he opened the ring box.
Alegria was flabbergasted. "Are you serious?" Alegria said as her eyes widened.
"Yes, I am." Bruno said, smiling. He stood up and took the ring out from the box. He lifted Alegria's left hand and put the ring on her finger.
"Oh my God.. Oh my God! Yes, Yes! I will marry you!" Alegria hugged Bruno tightly.
Calyx, Phil and the boys applauded.
Alegria then started to cry. "You're really stupid. You know that?" She told Bruno as she pushed him away from her.
"What? What's the problem?" Bruno asked, he couldn't see why Alegria was scolding her that time.
"What would you do after the surgery? You can't marry a woman who don't even have a single memory of you.. You should just marry somebody else." Alegria said, still crying.
Bruno eyes became red. "You.. You really are silly. I only want you. I don't need those other girls, it's you that I want. You're the one that I love." Bruno hugged Alegria. "If you're not happy about the engagement ring, just tell me. We can buy another one that you like." Bruno jokingly said.
Alegria chuckled. "You still joke at times like these?" Alegria looked at Bruno and caressed his face. She then gave him a quick kiss.
"I love you." Bruno said, looking into Alegria's eyes.
"I know that." Alegria said, smiling. Bruno gave Alegria another kiss.
"Uhm.. Ehem. Ehem." Calyx coughed loudly. "Bruno, I do believe you're already crossing the lines." Calyx said. Bruno just grinned at him.
"Come on Calyx, they're gonna get married with each other soon. Don't be such a killjoy and just let them be lovey-dovey for a moment." Phil said.
"Calyx is just being protective. Alegria's a girl, and as a brother, he should do all the things that he can do to protect Alegria." Eric denfended Calyx.
"But Bruno's there to protect Alegria now." Jamareo said, as he smiled at Bruno.
"You know, you really shouldn't worry about Bruno." Phredley said.
"Yeah, just give him your trust. He can take good care of Alegria." Kenji said.
"You take care of my sister or I'm gonna go beat you." Calyx said. It looked like he was serious.
"Don't worry, I'll help you beat him up if he makes your sister cry." Eric chuckled as he patted Calyx's back.
"Well, I guess everything's settled. Bruno is gonna marry Alegria and Calyx has given his trust to Bruno. You know, doing all of these made me hungry. Let's go eat inside the restaurant." Jamareo said, pointing to the restaurant near the pavilion.
They all went inside and ate dinner.

"What time will be the surgery tomorrow?" Bruno asked as he opened the door for Alegria.
"Eleven in the morning. Why? Are you going?" Alegria asked as he went out.
"Aren't you busy tomorrow?" Calyx asked, waiting for Alegria at the front door.
"I also took a day off tomorrow. I wanna be with Alegria before and after the surgery." Bruno smiled. "I'm gonna come here at ten. Is that okay?"
"Okay. Ten it will be." Alegria said as she kissed Bruno on the cheeks. "Bye."
"See you tomorrow." Bruno said as he drove and went home.
As he arrived, he saw a woman standing infront of his door.
"Chanel?"
"Oh Bruno, you're here. I've been waiting for you for hours.. I.. I have to tell you something."
"If you're gonna talk about us again, then forget about it." Bruno said as he opened his door.
"Wait, Bruno I still love you!" Chanel said, crying.
Bruno froze.
'Why now?'
